Yandex has released new devices for the smart home: light bulbs, switches and relays

Yandex has expanded the range of lighting devices as part of its smart home system. The company introduced new light bulbs, as well as updated versions of old models, smart wired and wireless switches and relays. All of these devices can work in the smart home system even without an Internet connection.

Previously, the range of Yandex smart bulbs included four models, but now the company has introduced their updated versions with support for the Matter over Wi-Fi standard. Also, three new models have been added: an RGB bulb with a GX53 base for suspended ceilings, a bulb with an E27 base that provides cool and warm light and is ideal for open chandeliers and designer lamps, and an updated RGB bulb with an E27 base and increased brightness for lighting large rooms with a single light source.

All new models support the Matter protocol and work over Wi-Fi even when the internet connection is turned off. Thanks to the easy connection via Matter, you can add several bulbs to your smart home system at once. There are also new light control functions: Dusk mode helps you wake up more easily in autumn and winter, sunset mode helps you relax before bed, and circadian mode changes the light color throughout the day to match your natural biorhythm.

The Yandex smart home system has now been supplemented with wired and wireless smart switches, available in one- and two-button versions. These devices operate via the wireless Zigbee protocol, so the wireless switches can work for several years without replacing the batteries. Each button of the two-position switch supports single, double and long presses, so up to six actions can be programmed for a one-button switch and up to twelve for a two-button switch.

A wireless switch can be installed anywhere in the house without being connected to the power grid - it is useful for controlling smart devices when it is not convenient to give a voice command. A wired switch is suitable for standard round sockets and in its basic version controls only the device connected to it, but can be switched to wireless mode and perform any other of the available scenarios.

If switches are already installed, you can use smart relays that are installed directly behind a conventional switch and can be wired with or without a neutral wire. The relay provides access to smart home functions such as voice and app control, timed operation and the ability to integrate into smart sensor scenarios. It also supports the Zigbee protocol. In addition, Yandex says it plans to further develop smart home technologies, including solutions for climate automation and security.
