Slokey SkyWays 50080 Telescope Review

Finding the right telescope is complicated and takes time, but this Slokey brand makes it very easy. I bought their simplest model the 40070 a couple of months ago for my 15 year old son, and we loved it. Easy to use and good quality for a rather kid-friendly telescope.

Now that I have decided to buy a better one to use myself, the decision has been very easy, this 50080 Slokey model. It is an improved version of the 40070 we already have but with better quality and better accessories, which is exactly what I was looking for.

These are the main improvements that the 50080 has over the 40070:

Tripod of better quality and more professional, it weighs more so it is more stable (necessary when using enough power).
80 mm aperture and 500 mm focal length, resulting in precise, high-resolution images for deep sky exploration.
Includes an extra 6mm eyepiece for more power (in addition to the 25mm and 10mm that come in both models).
The finder is a reflex sight with a red dot, which is easier to use and has a larger field of view than the one that comes with the 40070.
I have to say that we have loved both telescopes, they are very easy to assemble and use, the instructions are clear and the optical quality is excellent for what they are worth. I see the 40070 more for children and the 50080 more for adults. I personally recommend sitting down when using the telescope to be even more comfortable, you can adjust the height of the tripod and turn the diagonal prism to the side where you are sitting.

I can only talk wonders about this brand's products. I am very very happy and I will recommend it to my friends.

I bought this Slokey telescope because it is always ready to take it out and start looking in less than two minutes.

This telescope is powerful enough to see the moon in great detail, Jupiter and Saturn (the rings are visible). It is also good for Messier's larger and brighter objects like the Andromeda and the Orion Nebula.

It is a 10 by 10 telescope to start with astronomy, has a stable tripod and good eyepieces.

At 83x you can see the moon in great detail and in good atmospheric conditions you can also recognize very small planets such as Jupiter.
Between 120x and 150x you get the best ratio between power and image quality, it allows you to get good images of the most common celestial objects (keep in mind that this telescope is in the mid-range and for beginners, the quality of the images are not the same as those of much larger telescopes that cost much more).
At 250x you are already reaching the maximum that this telescope allows, and the images start to lose quality and become difficult to focus (you need patience and practice to see well at this power).
