Note: Do not immerse the device in water! If too much limescale has accumulated on the hotplate, you can remove it with normal household vinegar. Dilute the vinegar with water (add 1 part vinegar to 10 parts water). Pour the solution onto the hotplate. Leave it to steep for about 30 minutes. Then pour off the liquid. Wipe the burner with a damp cloth.
